This week we’re exploring the power of storytelling through the art of Faith Ringold, an American painter inspired by traditional quilt-making. Join us to contribute your own unique square in a communal mural inspired by this artist’s work! Each of us will paint our own square and combine all of them as a collaborative piece of art work.

Saturday, February 21 | 10am

Join us for an exploration of the Harlem Renaissance as we talk about artists like Aaron Douglas, Archibald Motley jr, and Augusta Savage. This week we’ll be particularly inspired by Aaron Douglas and his flat, silhouette-like figures against vibrant, geometric backgrounds. Come with a story impactful to you, either personal or not, to illustrate in Harlem Renaissance style!
