Creative Expression Inspired by the Masters with jj Riggs

What to expect

Have you ever wanted to learn more about art, try new mediums and learn new skills without having to commit to one lane? This class will be perfect for you! :)

In this class, we study master artists—not to replicate their work, but to understand how they thought, created, and pushed boundaries. Using their approaches as inspiration, you’ll create work that is entirely your own—rooted in your perspective, your choices, and your voice. The goal isn’t just to replicate the artist’s style, but to use their techniques as a framework for helping students build creative confidence and a stronger connection to their own voice.

From an operational standpoint, the series is designed to be both structured and flexible:

  • Each month follows a 4-week progression, where students who attend consistently will gain a deeper understanding of the artist’s approach and develop their skills over time.

  • At the same time, each class is fully self-contained, allowing students to drop in at any point without needing prior sessions. Every class results in a complete project and guided experience.

Learn the masters. Find yourself.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Mission Statement from JJ

“I believe creativity belongs to everyone. It’s not about perfection—it’s about expression, instinct, and showing up. In my classes, you won’t be taught to copy—you’ll be guided to explore, take risks, and trust your voice. Mistakes aren’t failures—they’re part of the work.

This is a space for curiosity, experimentation, and making something that feels like you.”
