Workshop Description
Join us at Tracy Aviary's Nature Center for a morning dedicated to birds.
We'll start the morning with a guided bird walk led by an Aviary ecologist. As the days shorten and food grows scarce, many birds are beginning their journeys to their winter homes. Together we'll explore the Nature Center grounds, watching for migratory birds as they pass through Utah on their way south.
Once you've had your fill of bird inspiration, we'll head inside for printmaking. You'll watch a guided demonstration and learn the materials and techniques behind a successful linocut print. We'll provide bird stencils to make the drawing process easy, or you're welcome to create a design of your own. You'll walk away with a one-of-a-kind nature journal, printed with the migratory bird of your choice.
And the best part about printmaking: once you're finished, you can keep using your block again and again.
All skill levels are invited, and all materials will be provided.
This workshop is hosted at Tracy Aviary's Nature Center, 3310 S 1000 W, South Salt Lake, UT 84119.
