Workshop description

This summer come travel the globe in this unique kids art camp. With international artist and educator, Jill Saxton Smith, we will explore traditional art techniques of 6 different cultures and create our own kid take on it. This camp is aimed at fostering cultural awareness, collaboration, creative thinking and expression that includes hands-on experiences in a variety of mediums and techniques. All supplies and a snack will be provided, please bring a water bottle.

During Lent and Semana Santa (Holy Week) families and neighbors come together to make flower and sawdust carpets—called alfombras de aserrín—on the streets in front of their homes. In this class we will collaborate and make our own huge traditional saw dust carpet!
