Workshop Description
Hi everyone!
Join us at Tracy Aviary's Nature Center on Saturday, October 24, for an afternoon immersed in art and nature's changing seasons.
The workshop starts with a guided nature walk led by an Aviary ecologist. You'll learn about the trees common to our local ecosystem and the science behind how and why their leaves change color. We'll walk along the Jordan River to explore how fall transforms the natural environment.
After our nature walk and conversation about leaves, it's time to paint them. Inspired by the vibrant shifts of autumn, you'll use simple watercolor techniques to blend, layer, and bleed rich seasonal colors on paper. Working from leaves found around the Nature Center, you'll create a beautiful leaf study and build the confidence to continue working with watercolors on your own.
This workshop moves at a relaxed pace and is open to artists and nature lovers of every level.
This workshop is hosted at Tracy Aviary's Nature Center, 3310 S 1000 W, South Salt Lake, UT 84119.
