Workshop Description

Welcome to our Translucent Porcelain Workshop! This will be a 2-day workshop (Friday 6pm - 8:30pm and Sunday 10am - 11:30am) where you will learn the fundamentals of what porcelain is, how to work with it and learn how to trim it to its translucency on the second day :)

In this workshop, we’ll be working with a special porcelain formulated to allow light to pass through, creating beautifully delicate, translucent pieces. Together, we’ll explore a variety of forms, guiding you toward a small but intentional collection of work.

Glazing is optional, though not recommended for those who want to maintain full translucency. If you do choose to glaze, options will be limited to translucent celadon or clear glaze to preserve that luminous quality.

All pieces made in this workshop are food-safe, and we’ll take some time to talk about why that is and what it means for everyday use.

* We ask everyone signing up to know the basic fundamentals of using a pottery wheel to join this workshop :)
