Workshop Description
This workshop offers an introductory exploration of the alla prima approach to figure painting from life. All Prima simply means “at first attempt.” Students will paint a single sustained nude pose in oils, completing a finished study in one session. Instruction will focus on gesture, measuring relative proportion, color, and paint application. We’ll go in with confident, expressive brushwork while maintaining structural accuracy. Some experience in either figure drawing or oil painting is recommended, but students of any skill level are welcome!
