Workshop Description
In this hands-on workshop, participants will create a handcrafted leather or faux leather-bound journal using the traditional long-stitch binding technique.
Designed for beginner and experienced makers alike, you’ll learn how to prepare signatures of blank or lined paper, punch holes, and sew pages directly into a leather or faux leather cover using waxed thread. Along the way, interleave beautiful scrapbook papers, and finalize with a charm for a personal feel.
By the end of the workshop, each participant will leave with a completed, bespoke leather journal measuring 7 x 4.75 and the foundational skills needed to continue bookbinding at home. All materials and tools are provided, and no prior bookbinding experience is required, though good hand strength is helpful.
